Artisan-Carved Vintage Sun Temple Wall Sculpture Sliding Door 72, The hand-carved door headboard / wall sculpture / barndoor depicting the wheel of the chariot of the Sun God Surya draws inspiration from the renowned Sun Temple in Konark, Odisha, India. This temple is celebrated for its architectural and artistic representations of the sun god Surya, showcasing celestial events and the exceptional craftsmanship of the era. The wall carvings at the Sun Temple resemble a majestic chariot with expansive wheels and intricately carved horses, all handcarved. Surya is depicted as rising in the east and traversing the sky swiftly in a chariot drawn by seven horses, surrounded by elaborate artwork, symbolism, and themes, including scenes from the Kamasutra. The carved door headboard carvings reflect the cultural richness and artistic brilliance of ancient India.

The carving is created from old vintage woods that are pieced together and supported in the back with horizontal slats. The back is rustic and not carved. Due to handmade nature of the carved panel there are joints and crevices which are natural to the vintage woods.

Exterior Dimensions : 72x35x1.5 inches, there are 4 slats in the back for support which are 1.5 inches thick,
