Antique Hand Carved French Doors, Arched Floral Panels, Original Patina 80x30

This vintage carved sliding door have restored original patina and warm reddish-brown wood has a soft whitewashed wear across the surface, and the original patina is still here to see. In places the honey tones glow through, and in others the pale finish settles into the grain. We restored these doors with a light touch, cleaning and refreshing them without stripping away the original patina that gives them their character. It’s a layered, collected look that a new door simply can’t offer.

The carving is the highlight. At the top of each door, a tall arched panel holds a single open flower rising on a curling vine, with leaves unfurling along the stem. A small rectangular panel in the middle carries a carved blossom, and the long panel below is filled with a large round rosette surrounded by flowing scrolls and leaves. The raised frames add depth, and the carving seems to shift as the light moves across the room. Their tall, slender shape has the grace of classic French doors, while the carving brings the handmade spirit of old Indian craftsmanship.

Because the pair is slim, it fits places where wider doors won’t. Hang it as hinged double doors, or mount it on a track for a farmhouse barn door look. It works beautifully as a room divider, as pantry or closet doors, or as the entrance to a study, bedroom, or reading nook. Leave the doors as they are to enjoy the original patina, or pair them with colorful textiles and brass for a more eclectic space.
