Antique Hand Carved French Doors Whitewashed Hinged or Sliding Barn Door 80x35

Antique hand carved double doors with rosette panels, restored with the original whitewashed patina kept The deep chestnut-brown wood carries a soft whitewashed wear that has settled into the grain and gathered in the carved details, while lighter honey tones show through along the panel edges. We restored these doors gently, cleaning and refreshing them while keeping the original patina that gives them their depth and warmth.

The carving is the real showpiece. Each door has two tall raised panels, one above the other, and every panel is filled with a symmetrical pattern. A large round rosette sits at the center, with half-sunburst fans at the top and bottom and curling leaves and scrolls in between. The pattern repeats from panel to panel, so the pair feels balanced and deliberate, and the deep carving casts soft shadows that shift as the light moves through the room. The tall, slim shape has the grace of classic French doors, while the carving carries the handmade spirit of old Indian craftsmanship.

Hang them as hinged double doors, or mount them on a track for a farmhouse barn door look. They work beautifully as a room divider, as pantry or closet doors, or as the entrance to a study, bedroom, or reading nook. Leave them as they are to enjoy the original patina, or pair them with colorful textiles and brass for a richer, more eclectic space.
