The branches spread across the whole panel, roots reaching down into the base, and depending on the piece, you'll spot birds, vines, or flowering details worked into the canopy. Each panel takes one of our artisans days of chiseling by hand, not a machine router, which is why you'll notice small variations from door to door: a branch that curves a little differently, leaves cut slightly deeper in one corner. Indigo and Turquoise doors are seen in Jaipur and Jodhpur, the kind of palette you'd expect on a doorway in Oaxaca or San Miguel de Allende. We're not claiming Mexican origin here, it's built in the same regional workshops as the rest of our collection, hand-painted and distressed to carry that Talavera-tile brightness. What makes it work is the aging: the paint isn't uniform, it's worn thin in places where a hand would naturally rest, which is what gives it that decades-old feel instead of looking freshly painted for a photo.

The carving underneath the color is traditional Indian carvings inspired by nature, florals, paisleys, visible grain, hardware that's genuinely old rather than aged to look that way. So you get two traditions layered on top of each other: the structure and craftsmanship of the doors we usually work with, dressed in a palette that reads as festive and a little irreverent.

The green on this door isn't paint it's teak that's oxidized over decades, the same way old copper turns green with age. That's why the color has depth to it instead of sitting flat on the surface: darker in the recessed carving, lighter and almost sage-toned on the raised parts where the wood has weathered more. The sun motif carved into the panel is a common one in older Gujarati doorways, usually meant to welcome light and good fortune into a home, and it's cut deep enough that you can still see the tool marks if you look closely.

Teak ages well precisely because it resists rot and insects better than most woods, which is part of why so many of these old doors survive in the first place,this one likely started life over a hundred years ago on a home somewhere in western India before making its way to us. We don't touch up the patina or seal over it; what you're seeing is just what happened to the wood over time.

Red is a harder color to get right on an old door, because most reds either fade to pink or go muddy over time. This one's held its saturation — a deep, slightly weathered red that's closer to brick or terracotta than fire-engine bright, which is what gives it that Spanish farmhouse feel rather than looking decorative. The carving underneath is straightforward and geometric, not ornate, so the color does most of the work here.

To be clear about what you're getting: this is reclaimed wood, carved and joined in the same regional workshops as the rest of our collection, finished in a palette that nods to Spanish and Mediterranean doorways rather than an actual antique import. Teak's density is part of why the color holds — it takes a stain differently than softer woods, which is part of why this red looks rich instead of chalky even after years of sun exposure.

Green Brass Patina Indian Carved Double Doors

The brass on these doors  it's inlay work, hammered and fitted into the wood by hand, and it's what's turned green over time the same way old brass does when nobody's polishing it. That green-black patina is actually a sign of age rather than a finish someone applied, which is why it sits unevenly: darker in the grooves, lighter where hands have touched it over the years.
